Tanure Ojaide

Ojaide is currently the Frank Porter Graham Professor of Africana Studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

As the 47 President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Professor Francis.

Ojaide was born on April 24, , in a rural area called Okpara, in present-day Delta State of Nigeria.

Born in the oil-rich but economically impoverished Niger Delta area of Nigeria, Ojaide was raised by his grandmother in a riverine rural environment.

This chapter focuses on the auto/biographical component of udje in Tanure Ojaide's poetry.

He won the Commonwealth Poetry Prize for the Africa Region (), the BBC Arts and Africa Poetry Award (), the All-Africa Okigbo Prize for Poetry ( and ), and the Association of Nigerian Authors' Poetry Prize (, and ). His poems have been translated into Chinese, Dutch, Spanish and French.
